LARSEN NEWS FOR THURSDAY, JULY 5th, 2001

SAVAGE DRAGON #86 SHIPPING LATE

That's right, Savage Dragon #86 was supposed to ship last week (kinda late news, but SHAT AP!), and just came out today (Thursday, July 5th).  Oh well.  At least we BOTHERED mentioning it.  The main Savage Dragon site never even bothered reporting the delay.  Lame-ola!

Erik's whole opinion on the matter, taken from the Savage Forum...

"FUCK.  Apparently, because the book was late order adjustments information needed to get to the printer.  Diamond didn't get their info in time to Ronalds.  After all that-- orders ended up dropping a mere 8 copies. Well worth waiting for.  Damn it.

Like I said, oh well.  Fortunately, us Larsen fans are sadists at heart, so we can stand a little torture.

DEFENDERS #6 OUT TODAY

Defenders #6 came out today, and was easily one of the greatest issues yet.  Stuff from Erik's old Nova series spills over (like the whole deal with the Red Raven and the Avians), as well as the whole issue bein narrated by the Hulk.  Very cool stuff, and VERY recommended.

FANTASTIC FOUR: WORLD'S GREATEST COMICS MAGAZINE #7 of 12

Lots of spills and chills and all sorts of retro-wackiness ensue in this new ish of FF.  All the same crew are back to cause damage as well as some new guest pencillers and inkers, so check it out.  Bruce Timm is doing stuff in it.  Everyone loves Bruce Timm!  He drew He-Man comics!  And does that crappy Batman Beyond cartoon!

LARSEN ON HULK ANNUAL
Sword-Girl trying to trick Hulk!

I... have no idea what the story is going to be about or what.  It's coming out in September, so be on the look out.  When I find out what it's exactly about, I'll let ya'll know, alright?  The gist so far is that Erik Larsen is slated to do a Hulk Annual.  That's... that's it.  That's all I know.  *sigh*

POSSIBLE SKETCH SOLUTION?

Courtesy of the Cliffs collection
So you never got a sketch from Larsen at a con?  Tough titties for you, right?  Well Erik's come up with a reasonable way to try and ensure your very own sketch and to make sure you ain't some ebay slimeball who's planning on turning around and selling it for a quick profit.  Erik in his own words......

"I want to SEE your letter in an issue of Savage Dragon AND your I.D. and I'll still sign it to your name! That will cut out most folks and it gives it a real visual excuse rather than something arbitrary like a password or making too much work for myself by having to write everybody's full address in addition to doing drawings for everybody who strolls by.  I dunno-- guys can certainly be big fans and NEVER write (as I'm sure many of those who post here will attest)."

So what say you?  Agree?  Disagree?  If so (or not), voice your opions at the Savage Dragon message board at SavageDragon.com  Larsen will listen to your words, so don't be afraid to voice your opinions.

Spinner Rack.com

Spinner Rack logo (no shit, right?)Looking for a few good sites with crap by Erik written on them?  Then check out Eric Stephenson's (yes, THAT Eric Stephenson) new site, Spinnerrack.com  It even has a kick-ass article about change in comics by Larsen himself!  Uh.... just ignore that it's just a reprint of what he said before.... *cough*

But check it out!  There's tons of other stuff too!

.....I guess.  *shrugs*
