In this here section we'll be showcasing the one timers that Erik's done on many a Marvel book.  Such comics (like Guardians of the Galaxy and Namor) had their own section, but since the chances of hell freezing over are better than Erik coming back to work on those books (especially seeing as how BOTH are long dead), I decided to move them here.  Anyways, opposite of each cover, is a little write-up review of what I thought of them, and if you click on the cover, you can check out a larger version.

Scroll furthur down for some extra crap I've put up, just because I'm such a nice bastard.  Now hop to it!

EXCALIBUR: AIR APPARENT

This comic was a collaborative effort by many different artists, including one piece featuring Captain Britian done by Erik Larsen.  It was released in 1991, and is super hard to find (by my experience, at least).  It's okay, and has so-so art, but Erik's rendition of Cap. Britain is insane!  He looks like he's been taking steroids.  Cover art is by Walt Simonson.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #19

Guardians of the Galaxy was done by Jim Valentino, with cover inks by Erik Larsen.  It's been said that Larsen also has done the inks to #4 as well, but I haven't seen it, so... I dunno.  The inside of this issue really sucks, and the cover isn't even that good, but.... it's Erik!  Oh well, at least when I look at it, I can always make fun of that weird looking guy on the far right.  What's up with that head???

NAMOR ANNUAL #1

Ugh.  Larsen does a short little back up story in this issue, and it's just.... yuck.  You wouldn't even KNOW it was done by Larsen unless you look in the credits.  Someone's heavy-handed inks, I don't know who, totally covered any trace of Erik's stuff.  Weird.  The story is pretty horrible too.  I had no clue what the hell was going on.  Bleargh.

WHAT THE #5

Now THIS book kicks ass!  Not only does it have a kick ass Hulk sequence by Erik Larsen (featuring a whole lot o' wackiness), but it also has stuff by a whole crap load of the OTHER Image founders!  Very neat stuff, and HIGHLY recommended, especially to see Erik's Hulk caricatures.

DOCTOR STRANGE #4

Doc Strange versus The Dragon?  Holy Jesus on a jump rope!  Oh wait... different dragon.  Nutbunnies.  Anyways, yeah, this is pretty much a dud as well.  The only thing worth checking is the Larsen cover.  The inside art is pretty craptastic, and the story.... I didn't even bother reading it to tell the truth.  Go buy it today!

X-FORCE #2

Ohhhhh yeah.  The bottom of the barrel has been hit when you start breaking out the Liefeld stuff.  Anyways, the only reason why this piece of...... paper is shown here is because someone (I think Erik) mentioned he inked some pages within.

.........HOW THE HELL CAN KANE EVEN BEND LIKE THAT????????? *sigh*

X-FORCE #3

Yay!  ANOTHER X-Force book!  This one's got the same deal as #2.  Interior inks on some of the pages (not sure which) was done by Larsen.  Try to guess!  I would, but Liefeld's artwork make my eyes bleed.  Sorry.

X-51 #12

Ugh #2.  If there's one thing I can't stand more than a Liefeld comic, it's TEXT-HEAVY comic books.  Especially when the text makes my highschool biology book look like Hustler.  Anyways, Erik only did the cover, and a mighty fine cover it is.  That's... that's pretty much the only reason I picked it up, and it should be the only reason you should too.

X-51 #12 COVER PENCILS

Check it out!  The cover pencils to that horrible X-51!  The detail in this thing is SICK!  Look at that thing!  Gah!  Makes me glad I'm not Erik Larsen.  If I had to draw something like that, I'd probably eat a bullet at the end of the day.  Very nice stuff, Mr. Larsen.  Very nice.  Makes that piece of crap comic worth our hard-earned $2.50 (!!!)

CALL X-MEN'S VILLAINS AD

Holy crap!  I totally forgot Erik did this piece!  I only noticed it when I was browsing through some old Silver Sable comics (which never had Erik guest-draw!  Blasphemy!).  Anyways, yeah.  I have NO idea how this scam worked.  I guess you call and some clown on the other end pretends he's Sauron?  Pretty lame, but hey, Erik drew the ad!  And Juggernaut has sprockets all over his face!  Wacky!

PROPOSED WARLOCK SERIES

Erik was planning on proposing a new Marvel series for Warlock, which.... pretty much fell through.  To the left is the proposed character sketches for the series.  Looks like it would've been cool.

HULK SHIRT

Check it out!  A Hulk t-shirt!  The pic of the Hulk came from Spider-Man #.... 23, I think.  It's from Erik's Spider-Man storyline, anyways, and NOT from his Hulk issues.  The lettering looks kinda crappy, but damn does that Hulk look vicious!  I want it!  And I bet dollars to doughnuts that you do too!

SPIDER-MAN T-SHIRT

Hey, a Spidey t-shirt!  How come I never seen ANY of these shirts?  *sigh*  Oh well.  This pic came from Erik's Spider-Man run.  It's the cover to.... Spider-man #18, I believe.  I'd go and look it up, but take my word for it, it's 18... probably.  heh.  But yeah.  Nice shirt!  Attract all them babes with this bad boy!  *snicker*

SPIDER-MAN SHIRT #2

Was there some kind of conspiracy or something against me?  I have ZERO Erik Larsen drawn t-shirts, yet I see pics of them with Spider-Man, Dragon, Hulk, and other oddities.  What the hell???  Anyways, yeah, this ALSO came from Erik's run on Spider-Man, which automatically becomes the greatest comic run EVER seeing as how there's THREE shirts made from it.  So... yup. Erik is a god.  And he's got the shirts to prove it.
